Intermodal Network Update for Friday, October 10, 2025

Operational Performance
BNSF operating teams are currently addressing service challenges on our Northern Transcon due to a train derailment in North Dakota. The derailment occurred late Thursday morning near Nolan, North Dakota, approximately 50 miles northwest of Fargo. Track restoration work is ongoing, and the main track is expected to reopen this afternoon. To minimize disruption, some trains have been rerouted. Once service is restored, affected customers may still experience delays in this area until traffic flows return to normal.

Regarding key service metrics, car velocity has decreased slightly compared to both the previous week and the September average. Terminal dwell was relatively unchanged from the previous week, and our local service compliance measure, which reflects our timeliness in handling carload freight, remains steady at 90%.

Service Expectations for the Week Ahead
Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected in parts of the Southwest and Rockies, raising the risk of localized flooding from Arizona to Colorado and New Mexico through the weekend. Our teams are actively monitoring the weather disruptions and are prepared to respond to ensure safe and efficient operations.

In other areas of the BNSF network, conditions are generally dry and favorable.
