Industrial Products Network Update for Friday, March 15, 2024

OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
The operation continues to exhibit resiliency despite confronting multiple service challenges on our busy Southern Transcon route over the past few weeks. Overall car velocity increased this week following multiple high wind events along the Transcon and wildfires in the Texas Panhandle. Terminal Dwell decreased slightly from last week, and the average remained steady with February. Our local service compliance measure exceeds 91% and continues to reflect improved efficiencies in handling carload freight.

Traffic along the Southern Transcon is experiencing delays due to high wind gusts of around 70 miles per hour on the western end of the Clovis Subdivision in Central New Mexico. High wind advisories are expected to expire this evening as the winds diminish.

SERVICE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
A winter storm that brought heavy snow to Colorado this week, with over 24 inches in the Denver metro region, is leaving the area today; however, another winter weather system in the Southern Rockies is moving across the Southwest through the weekend. BNSF teams are monitoring conditions and are prepared to respond quickly to any service disruptions.

Elsewhere across the BNSF network, favorable operating conditions are expected, and no extreme weather is anticipated during the upcoming week.
