BNSF Continues Ocean Container Incentive Program at Los Angeles Hubs - Initiative to Support On-Going Supply Chain Recovery

As part of its ongoing support of the Port of Los Angeles’ and Long Beach’s Accelerate Cargo initiative, BNSF will be extending its weekend incentive program to encourage additional in-gate activity at its Los Angeles Hobart and Commerce Intermodal Facilities. Through the remainder of 2021, BNSF will offer a $50 in-gate incentive for ocean containers that in-gate on a Saturday or Sunday at either facility above a set threshold. These thresholds will be unique for each carrier, based on historic in-gate patterns.

This program extension is intended to support a collaborative 24/7 supply chain operation and ongoing joint efforts to reduce the current backlog of cargo in the port complexes of Los Angeles and Long Beach. BNSF’s intermodal rail terminals are open and ready to support increased cargo as peak shipping season approaches.
